Teresa Pitcher, DNP, CRNP, PMHNP

Dr. Pitcher, CRNP is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), with training and experience treating adult and adolescent patients with psychiatric disorders across practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics. Her education includes a Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization, from Drexel University, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, from Wilkes University. Dr. Pitcher brings a trauma-informed philosophy of holistic care for both mind and body to her practice and has an abiding commitment to individualized, personalized, and collaborative care for patients.

Dr. Pitcher believes leveraging the complementary powers of biology, chemistry, psychotherapy, and evidence-based medicine to help patients improve their lives is the most effective method for obtaining good clinical outcomes. Her approach to mental wellness is whole-person centered and goes beyond the biopsychosocial model that is often employed by psychiatric providers. Adhering to a perspectives model allows a multidimensional approach to achieving improved mental health. 

Dr. Pitcher has extensive experience treating the spectrum of psychiatric disorders including mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders and specializes in adults with persistent mental health issues. She has considerable experience in treating those with both intellectual disabilities and mental illness. She also has a clinical interest in evidence-based alternative and adjunctive treatments for improving emotional and behavioral issues.

Dr. Pitcher is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She holds an appointment as assistant professor in the graduate nursing department at Wilkes University. Beyond her traditional academic education, she has received additional training in clinical hypnosis, mind-body medicine, and is a certified master psychopharmacologist.

Lynsi Cobb is a licensed practical nurse and phlebotomist who has devoted her nursing career to helping those with mental health needs. She is the client care coordinator at Avant and is proficient in providing assistance to clients, families, and caretakers. She is very experienced in mental health care from a systems perspective and is extremely knowledgeable about mental health issues and treatments. She manages multiple aspects of patient care and will be your first contact at Avant.

Ashley is a professional counselor and licensed behavioral specialist with experience providing therapy to a diverse array of individuals in the home and community settings. Her education includes a Master of Arts in psychology from Marywood University with a concentration in mental health counseling. Ashley believes in utilizing a strength based, multi-systemic approach to develop a customized plan, incorporating the client's interests and motivations. Ashley is committed to using best practice methodology to facilitate greater mental wellness.
